James, second Lord Boyd, was restored to the title and lands by King James III of Scotland who was his uncle in 1482 (His mother was the Princess Mary). He was killed in a feud with Hugh Montgomery of Eglington in 1484, when he was under sixteen. "In ipso adolescentis flore perlit intimicorum insidies circumventus". He was succeeded in the title of Lord Boyd by his uncle Alexander. |
