Alexander

Alexander Boyd, Major, 11th Regiment, Command Paymaster at Gibraltar.

Born at Crosspatrick near Killain, County Mayo, 1792 baptised 5th August of that year.

He married at Gibraltar 24th October, 1812, Susan, daughter of Major Robert Browne of Shrule and Headford, County Galway, by his wife Elizabeth Swift of Dublin. Susan Brown was baptised at Dundalk, 15th May, 1796. Died at Derby 17th July, 1873. Major Boyd Died 21st May, 1869.

They had children:

  1. Lewis Alexander, b. 1812. Captain 36th Foot. dsp 20th September, 1866.
  2. Robert Thomas Browne Boyd, born December 13th 1815 at Gibraltar.
  3. Alexander Fielding
  4. John Thomas Theodore (my great, great grandfather)
  5. Frederick William Arthur. Born at Corfu 1834 Captain Foot. Regiment dsp 1865
  6. Frances, born 1823, married Thornton Marshall, by him she had a daughter, Susan Frances, who married Richmond Leigh Powell.
