William

William, tenth Lord Boyd succeeded in 1654. On 7th August 1661, he was created by King Charles II, Earl of Kilmarnock. He died in March 1692, having married in 1661 Joan Cunningham, daughter of the ninth Earl of Glencairn.

They had children:

  2. James - Captain in Sir Charles Graham's Regiment 1692
  3. Charles - Captain in same regiment d. 1737
  4. Robert - b. 1689, married Margaret Thomson by whom he had eleven children, of whom the thrid, Alexander was grandfather of Sir Walter Boyd, 1st Bart., of Dublin
  5. Alexander
  6. Mary
  7. Catherine
  8. Margaret
