Sir Thomas SIR THOMAS BOYD OF KILMARNOCK, Knight, was arrested by King James I for having wasted the Crown rents. Early in 1439 he slew Sir Allan Stewart, Knight, at Polmais Thorn "for old feud that was betwixt them". Alexander Stewart, to avenge his brother's death, set upon Sir Thomas Boyd "in plaine battle" when Sir Thomas was "cruelly slain with many valiant men on every side." He left issue:
